Our story
Ismail Eye Hospital
Three generations. A lasting commitment to sight.
From a practice established after Partition to a hospital welcoming patients from across Pakistan, our story is one of dedication and service.
The hands that carried it forward
01 · The founding generation
Dr. Ismail
Founder
After Partition, Dr. Ismail moved to Pakistan and established his medical practice in Shujabad. His commitment to caring for patients laid the foundation of the institution that would become Ismail Eye Hospital.
02 · The second generation
Dr. Muhammad Azhar Mian
The driving force behind its growth
His son, Dr. Muhammad Azhar, took over the practice and made it a hospital the region trusted. Patients travelled from far away for treatment, and under his leadership the hospital earned the loyalty of generation after generation of families.
03 · The third generation
Dr. Muhammad Nadeem Azhar
The driving force today
Following in his father's footsteps, Dr. Muhammad Nadeem Azhar trained as an ophthalmologist. When Dr. Muhammad Azhar retired, Dr. Nadeem took the reins of the hospital. As chairman he leads its work every day, bringing the latest equipment and modern surgical techniques to Shujabad — including Phacoemulsification cataract surgery — and has built Ismail Eye Hospital into its renowned status today as one of the leading eye treatment hospitals in the region.
One driving force in every generation
Dr. Ismail built the practice. Dr. Muhammad Azhar made it a hospital the region trusted. Dr. Muhammad Nadeem Azhar has made it a leading centre for eye treatment. In every generation one doctor has carried this institution forward — today that responsibility rests with Dr. Nadeem.

Continuing the legacy today
Under Dr. Muhammad Nadeem Azhar's leadership, Ismail Eye Hospital has grown into a respected centre for eye treatment in the region, welcoming patients from across Pakistan. He has introduced the latest equipment and up-to-date surgical techniques, including Phacoemulsification for cataract surgery, so that patients receive modern care close to home. His work honours the foundations laid by his grandfather and father while carrying the hospital's commitment to patient care into the future.
